Things To Do During the Pandemic (Besides Binging Netflix)

Are you bored, anxious, or just antsy? If so, you are not alone. We sit in our homes, wondering if there will ever be a day when things will go back to “normal.” What will our new “normal” be? Until our new “normal” returns, we must make the best out of a difficult situation. To help you power through this time of solitude, I’ve created a list of things you can do to make the most of this challenging situation.

Arts and crafts

Do you like to paint or sew, but don’t have the time to commit to such projects? There is no better time than now to start an arts and craft project. You can make a DIY mask or do some coloring just to unwind.

Cooking

Is there a recipe that you want to try? Now is the perfect time to try something new! Or, do you have an old favorite that is time-consuming to make? Pull out those pots and pans and whip up something delicious for the family.

Games

Do you have board games that you haven’t played in ages? If so, pull them out for a family game night. Or, if you don’t have games, make up your own. You will be surprised at how much fun you can have with a little creativity.

Gratitude

Are you taking a moment out of your day to reflect on what you are grateful for? If not, take a few minutes to give thanks each day. Show gratitude towards the people who are on the frontline during the pandemic by sending a note of thanks.

Home improvement

Is there something around your house that needs repairing? Get out your tools and do the project you have been putting off for months. It can be as simple as painting a door or sprucing up your yard.

Organizing

Is your junk drawer out of control? Do you have things in your house that you no longer use? Take the time to declutter your space. Get rid of things that you no longer use. You will be much happier working from home in an area that is neat and tidy.

Outdoors

Are you getting your daily dose of sunshine? If not, go on a walk and be present in the moment. Enjoy the beauty of nature, while getting in some exercise.

Reading

Do you have a pile of books that you have meant to read? Dust off the cover and dive into your stash of books. Reading can relax you, and you might just learn something new!

Video chats

Have you lost contact with an old friend? Why don’t you reconnect through a video chat? You can get a free Zoom account and host an online happy hour where you can invite multiple friends to join.

Times are uncertain right now. However, we can make the most of them by staying positive and busy. Let me know what you are doing to keep busy during the pandemic.
