Our Team

We believe that learning design, when done correctly, is the key to educational success in any environment.

The State of Florida has recognized us as a woman-owned business, a status that brings us tremendous pride. Because we are a small business, you don’t have to worry about paying for lavish boardrooms or fancy overhead. We work entirely virtually, which allows us to connect directly with our clients in ways that are most convenient for them. Since Athena Scholastic is a boutique firm, you will always know who is working on your project. We support each other, our clients, and our broader community to enhance learning wherever we are able.

Heather Reingold, ME

Heather initially started her career in radio advertising sales but quickly learned she needed to find a more fulfilling path and one where she could truly make a difference in the lives of others. She’s gone on to do that with her career as an educator – taking material that would otherwise be ‘dry’ and boring and finding ways to teach it to an audience that help them understand while keeping them engaged. She loves watching an idea ‘click’ with someone and seeing them get excited about learning something new. An avid beachcomber and explorer through and through, Heather has found pottery pieces from the 1715 Spanish Armada, which sank near her home. When she’s not focused on curriculum design, you can find Heather tackling home improvement projects, playing with her dog Nick, or kicking back with some Golden Girls reruns.

Kimberly Testa, MS

Kimberly learned her passion for education began with learning what not to do. After an encounter with a high school teacher who told her he did not expect students to engage in the course material, she quickly realized there had to be a better way. While she began her own teaching career in traditional classroom settings, she was exposed early on to the variety of options that online education can bring, and she has been implementing education tools across a variety of digital platforms for nearly two decades. Kimberly loves the flexibility that learning design provides, and the ability to work with a variety of real-world learning methods and styles in ways that make things make sense. A dual citizen of the US and Italy, Kimberly and her family can be found at least part of the year crossing the ocean, or roaming across the country in their RV.
